- Jens Haug, age 82, died on Thursday, July 25, 1991, following a long illness.
He was born in Toten, Norway on April 23, 1909. As a young man in Norway, he was an avid ski jumper. During his life, he loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing, and was a caring family man. He was employed as a supervisor for Oscar Mayer for 37 years and also owned Haug's Grocery In Token Creek for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Christiansen Haug of Sun Prairie, who he shared 51 years of marriage; his daughter, Maven (Don) Bork of Appleton; four grandsons, Brett Bradley Bork, Christopher Chad Bork, Donald E. Bork Jr., and Seth Michael Bork, all of Appleton; two sisters, Petva and Conney, both of Norway; three brother-in-laws, Selmer (Delores) Christiansen, Erling (Rachel) Christiansen, and David (Eunice) Christiansen; two sister-in-laws, Olga (Don) Johnson and Elizabeth (Russell) Pastle; and many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kristoffer and Karen Amelia Haug; two brothers, Jonas and Kolbiorn; two sisters, Olga and Magnild of Norway; and his mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Christiansen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 1991 at the Burke Lutheran Church, Portage Rd., Madison with Pastor James T. Bean III officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home on Friday, July 26, 1991, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A memorial fund is to be established later. He was a special part of many lives. He continues to be with us - In love, for love never dies. He will be remembered for his strength, gentleness, faith, love, humor, and wonderful Norwegian spirit. Thanks for being our husband, dad, grandfather, and friend. PEACE.
